Last night after dinner I finished sewing up my blocks for Judy's Quilt for an Hour. Today after work I am planning on getting the sashing on them. This is turning out really nice. I might have to keep this one!

I think I'm on a roll now!

Sat down after work Tues and sewed up more quilt for an hour blocks. I now have 10 of them made. And last night I stitched down 2 more socks. Now I need to get more cut out and prepped on the background and get busy cutting and sewing some heels and toes!

Progress being made...

on both Judy's Quilt for an Hour and the Lost Sock Swap! Yesterday I got caught up on a couple steps and got 4 blocks made for the QFAH! Now I wish I didn't have to work today so I could get the rest of them made up! And while watching the end of a baseball game last night I got 2 sock blocks sewn. Now all I need to do is get the heels and toes on them and they are done!

Late Stash Report Week #21

This week I worked on Judy's Quilt for an Hour....I did purchase 2 yards of a patriotic star fabric yesterday...will come in handy for backing.....LOL Really am loving how this QFAH is turning out! Thanks so much Judy for doing this!

Judy asked this week how we are coming on our goal/s for stashbusting. I didn't set a goal for how much I wanted to bust....I will be happy as long as my net ytd totals busted for the year are not in the negative! LOL So I really have to slow down on my purchasing.

Year-to-Date Totals:
Busted: 57 1/2 yards
Purchased: 80 7/8 yards
Net YTD: <23> yards busted!

Quilt for an Hour progress

Well I am behind the eightball on this...I have step 1 completely done...step 2 cut out and am working on. I did cheat and move ahead and complete one block, so I could see if I liked my color choices for backgrounds. The purple in the picture is a little lighter than it is showing in the pic. But I think this color will work. This is the one color after I changed another one that I was worried about.

Stashbusting Report

Not a whole lot to report on for this week. I think my week was like Judy's weekend! I did get my fabrics picked out for Judy's Quilt for an Hour that starts Monday and got it all washed and dried. Now I need to iron and start cutting. Traced off some socks and got a few sock blocks prepped and a bunch of backgrounds cut out for them. Made a few orange peel blocks and that is about it. No fabric in this week! Yipee!!

Quiltathon

Well I didn't get as much sewing done as I wanted to...however I did get some socks cut out and am working on getting them prepped so I can start stitching them down. I also fussy cut some sunflowers to put on a table runner, washed and dried my fabrics for the Quilt For An Hour. I also did a bunch of other things today, however they didn't revolve around sewing..Tomorrow after work I plan on doing some sewing and will post an update in the evening.

Sunday update:

I made a couple orange peel blocks to help out a friend and cut out and prepped some socks for the sock swap. Only to discover a couple I traced going the wrong way! Oops....

Possible fabrics for Judy's Quilt for an Hour

I think I have my fabrics picked out for this. There are a couple that I am not sure of.

So need your help. Would you change any of the colors for the stars? If, yes which ones?
Dark fabric for background on the left, light on the right..

Week #19 Sunday Report

Well I'm finally getting in here for my report and it is a short one. I really didn't get any sewing done this week. I did look at some quilting books trying to get an idea of an applique to do on a project I am working on. No fabric purchased this week!

Week #18 Sunday Report!

I didn't realize until I read Vicky's blog that this was week 18! My goodness where has the time gone? I missed reporting last week as we were traveling home from Paducah. So my report will include the past two weeks. Had a fabulous time in Paducah, the quilts are amazing! This past week I have been off on vacation while DH went back to work...and I have been doing a bunch of sewing..Yahoo! I took another of the totebag classes at the LQS and made this bag..the pattern is called New Girl and was quick and easy to make.
.
Then I finished the Building Block bag from another class earlier in the year.

While in Paducah Shirley quilted my Fall Mystery quilt from a few years ago on Planet Patchwork and I got the binding sewn on it.

Then I had some tulip blocks from a swap a couple years ago and I got those made into a top Saturday.

If you have been reading my blog you already know I added 59 yards of fabric to my stash while I was in Paducah. I finally got up the nerve to update my totals and all in all not too bad..could have been alot worse if I wasn't participating in Stashbusting!
Year-to-Date Totals:
Busted: 51 5/8 yards
Purchased: 78 5/8 yards
Net YTD: <27> yards busted!

Gary visits Paducah!

One of the two quilting sites I belong to has had a Flat Stanley type thing going on. His name is Gary and he is our quilting bug. Gary visited me prior to leaving for Paducah so he got to go along on the trip. Gary had a blast!

Gary in the hotel in Tallahassee, FL....here he is checking out some sewing I was doing in the hotel room. The next picture he is all tucked in bed...sewing and traveling sure does wear him out!
Next on the trip was Paducah! But first he had to watch Shirley quilt a quilt on her machine...Gary is thinking that he needs one of these..
The next day it was head into Paducah and hit the Quilt Show!
Here he is at the Batiks By Design booth at the Kentucky Mall. Gary kinda lost himself in the fabric! He was in 7th heaven!!

Home from Paducah

All I can say is we had a great time. Jim even commented he wished we had had more time to view the quilts!!! I did a ton of shopping and even picked up things that were actually on my list of things to get. Below are pictures of what I bought. Now before some of you have a heart attack...LOL...AQS sets up a storefront downtown and sells some of their books for $5.00 each! So needless to say I couldn't pass that up...The fabric stash ended up being in the 60 yard range. Most of it came from Eleanor Burns tent sale for $3.50 - 4.00 a yard. The cool thing is that most of what I bought was paid for with tips from work! How awesome is that?
