Diet Challenge Report March 30

I did make it to my Weight Watcher meeting last Weds and lets just say that was the only good thing about it. My weigh in sucked! I knew it would...I gained 1.3 pounds. So needless to say I am back at square one on the trying to loose merry go round. I haven't done real well this week at watching what I'm eating and drinking and I just hope that when I go weigh in on Weds I won't gain anymore. If I stay the same I will be happy. I did end up on anti-inflamatory meds for my arm...seems I pulled/strained my deltoid muscle in my right arm...and also got put on an antibiotic for a sinus infection. So that's my story and I'm sticking to it. LOL

Quiltathon Day 2, A Finish!! and Stashbuster Reports!!

I am doing a major happy dance here in Florida!!! One we got some much needed rain today! And two I have a finish!!!! This weekend was Quiltathon Weekend hosted by Judy. Thanks Judy for the kick in the butt I needed to sew something. This tablerunner I had made in a class probably a year ago at the LQS...goodness to think I let it lay that long before finishing it. I was so close to having it done. Well Saturday I got the quilting and trimming done. And today I made and attached the binding. I cheated and sewed the binding down using a decorative stitch on my sewing machine. I know I know! You should have sewn that by hand and one of these days I will really do it that way.

On the Stashbusting front I see it's been a few weeks since I've updated my totals.

Fabric added this week 0 yards
Total fabric added this year 11 7/8 yards

Fabric used this week 4 3/4 yards
Total fabric used this year 28 7/8 yards

Total fabric busted this year 17 yards
I am afraid after I go to Paducah my numbers are going to be out of whack!

Day 1 Quiltathon Progress

I made this tablerunner at a class at the LQS probably a year ago! Oh my!! Where has the time gone? Anyway I was able to get it quilted today. Hoping to get the binding made and sewn on yet today. My quilting isn't the greatest...I wish I was better at it...need to get Hubby to fix the leg in the table to my machine maybe that would help to have more support for it. But then again maybe more practice and a glass of wine first! LOL And since we are looking at sunflowers, here's a picture of the sunflowers Jim grew in the garden this winter. And that's Eddie peeking out from around them! Crazy cat!

Diet Challenge Report March 23

Ok folks this isn't going to be pretty and I'm sure some of you will yell at me! But I have not made it to Weight Watchers for the past 2 weeks!! YES you heard me right 2 weeks. I plan on going this week and am praying my scale at home is right which will mean I have not gained nor have I lost. Given the stress of the past couple weeks and of weeks to come all I am promising each week right now is to drink more water, go to meetings and cut back on eating out and on the rum and cokes!
Now I seem to remember our Drill Sergant asking us to post a recipe using fruit.
Here is one I got from a friend(Norma) and should probably look over and see if I can make it WW friendly.
1 (15 1/4) can unsweetened pineapple tidbits
3 Tablespoons Cornstarch
2 Teaspoons Sugar (can add more if needed)
1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon or Pumpkin Pie Spice
1 Cup Water
3 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
2 Medium Oranges
2 Red Apples (unpeeled)
2 Bananas
1 Yellow Apple
1 Pear
1 cup Green Grapes
1 Cup Red Grapes
Drain pinepapple, reserving juice, set aside. Combine cornstarch, sugar and spice in saucepan, gradually add water, stirring until smooth. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil; boil 1 minute. Remove from heat, and stir in reserved pineapple juice and lemon juice; cool. Combine reserved pineapple and remaining ingredients in a large bowl, pour dressing over top, tossing gently to cover. Cover and chill.( I sort of do my own thing with the fruits, usually about half of the amounts listed.)

Diet Challenge Report March 16th

Well this past week I did not make it to Weight Watchers. I plan on making it there this week. As far as I can tell I have held my own on not gaining nor loosing. I have been really stressed lately between some issues at work and with my Mom it has been really tough to even think about trying to loose weight. But one good thing I am drinking more water so that is a plus! Here's to a better week coming up!

Late Week 10 Stash Report

I have busy the past week or so making HST's and Bear blocks for Judy's Bear's in the Farmhouse quilt along. Really liking how these are turning out. Also made some scrappy hearts for a swap. I ended up at the Quilt Store over the weekend and added to my stash. Some of it is to make more HST's so I have more variety in my bear blocks. I ended up with way too many greens!! Also added some red marble for some QOV Snowball blocks I am making and a stripe for some love quilt borders.

Fabric added this week 3 yards
Total fabric added this year 11 7/8 yards

Fabric used this week 7 7/8 yards
Total fabric used this year 24 1/8 yards

Total fabric busted this year 12 1/4 yards

Diet Challenge Report March 9th

Well after being away for a little over a week I think I did pretty good. I lost .4 pounds, making my total loss so far -1.2 pounds. Not great but at least I am in the loss column. Hopefully one of these days soon I'll completely on the wagon and stop this up and down trail I am on.

MIA and weight report

Sorry about being MIA lately, I was up in Ohio/PA visiting my Mom who has liver cancer and seeing my Aunt and Uncle and Jim's Mom. I did not make it to Weight Watchers this past Weds so I have no idea how I did. The Weds before I left I had gained ..2 pounds. So hopefully this week I will show a loss. I am trying to get back in the groove of being home and also of being back to work. Today was first day back....wasn't too bad...it did go fast. I work tomorrow and then off Weds and Thurs. On Thurs I will take Heather to the airport and she is flying into Pittsburgh Airport and meeting up with her brother and then going to my Uncle's and over to see my Mom and other family. Mom is looking forward to seeing the kids. On the sewing front today I have cut out almost all pieces for some heart blocks I need to get made up and mailed. I will finish cutting them tonight and I also got one of the parts sewn for these blocks. For those who might be interested I have added a picture of my Mom.
