Design Wall Monday Feb 8

On my wall this week is the 30's Sampler from last week.  I was able to get the sashing and cornerstones cut out.  Here it is laid out...the sashing and stones will go the whole way around the outside like on the right side of the picture.  The cornerstone fabric will also be the final border.  Sashing fabric is a WOC print and will be the backing and binding.

Feb 7 Stash Report

I am slowly using stash for my projects.  Not going as fast on the busting totals I want, but I am happy with being able to report some used each week.  I do know in the next week or so I will be adding some to my totals as I just found the remaining fabrics needed to complete a New Year's Day Mystery I did a couple years ago and the fabric is $5.00 a yard!  I made a promise to myself that I would not get sidetracked on this site and that I will only buy what I need to complete this NYD quilt.  Now to figure out how much I need.  Today I will be working on my 30's sampler that was on my design wall this past Monday, I hope to show some progress tomorrow on that.

So here's my report for this week:

Used this Week: 3 5/8 yards
Used year to Date: 20 1/4 yards

Added this Week: 0 yards
Added Year to Date: 8 1/2 yards

Net Used for 2010: 11 3/4 yards

OPAM Finish for February!

This is the door decoration that I have been working on this week.  When I quilted it I used an antique decorative stitch on my machine.  I am pleased with how it turned out.  Now I need to think on something for St. Patrick's Day!  This makes finish # 2 for the year and #1 for February.  I plan on having more finishes for this month.

Design Wall Monday Feb 1

This is my elimination project for February.  They are 30's blocks from a couple online swaps I did a few years ago.  I did not realize until I put them up on the wall this morning that 4 of them are unbleached muslin and the remaining 8 are bleached or white.  So now my deliman begins.  I am thinking as I look at them to put the 4 oddballs in each of the 4 corners and then find something to sash each block with to split up the white and cream from being right next to each other.  What ideas do you have?  I'm open for suggestions!
