Here is my 5th finish for July! This was a New Years Day Mystery hosted by Planet Patchwork a few years back. I finally finished it. Also are my other finishes for July. Thanks Peg for having his challenge. It really helped me get some things done.

My 4th Finish
This month I have been participating in Peg's Finish 5 in July Challenge. When I joined I wasn't sure how many finishes I would get for the month. Told myself that if I finished just 1 I would be happy! Well here I am with my 4th and if all goes right on Weds I will have my 5th! The tulip blocks were made with some online friends as a swap. This is a small wallhanging and I really like how it turned out.

Why is it so hard...
to find a lost needle? I have now succeeded in losing two needles inside my chair! I have looked and looked and turned that chair every which way and still cannot find those blasted needles. I guess the chair likes them. So long as I don't find them in my barefeet or the cat finds them we are good.

Stash Report #29
This week was a fairly good week for me. I busted some stash and didn't add any except for the Designer Mystery BOM block 2. I fisnished the 30's tablerunner, made binding for 2 quilts, picked, cut and started sewing on a QOV Mystery that I am doing with an online group and worked on some socks!

Greetings from the soggy!
I can't believe it hasn't rained since before I got up this morning! Woohoo! Starting to dry out a little. So glad that someone has turned the faucet off. Here's a couple pictures I took Tuesday.

You can turn the faucet off anytime!
Geesh this rain is getting on the annoying side now! Here's how it looks around the lanai this morning. See the moat forming? We've been getting rain in the morning, afternoon, at night and overnight. Would someone please turn the faucet off?

Finish 5 in July Challenge update!
I have my first finish for the month. Woohoo! Scratch this one off the list! Man does it feel good to be able to say I have finished something. This is a table runner that had been started in a class and was sitting over there waiting patiently to be finished. Tonight after dinner I thought ok lets bite the bullet and get this done. Well Eddie had other ideas and here is a pic of my helper! And a pic of the finished runner. Thanks Peg for doing this challenge.
Stash Report 28
Well this wasn't a great week for me on the sewing/quilting front. I did get 17 pairs of heels/toes prepped and pinned onto the sock bodies and go no further than that. Also ironed my fabric for a magazine challenge with an online group. And that is it. No fabric found it's way into my home, that I recall.

Star BOM fabric choices
Well I have been looking through my stash this past week and this is what I have come up with. I will have to use 2 WOW's and then I'm not sure which option I like better...I have an idea but would like some input. The fabrics are the same with the exception of the burgandy and the blue print. If I go with the burgandy I may have to come up with another smaller piece to use in some of the blocks as I only have 3 yards of the burgandy. So tell me what you think! Thank you Judy for once again sharing your expertise with us and providing this great BOM!
Fabrics are numbered left to right (There are 2 whites that count as 1)
Option 1
Option 2

Stash Report #27
Well I have been busily working on my socks and that is all at this point in time. I have been bad and added to my stash this weekend. Made the mistake of looking at the Christmas fabrics at Joanns and they had some gingerbread men and some nice WOW and I bought it. So between that and Vicky's megging on the Designer's Mystery BOM my stash totals are going backwards. But once my socks are finished I will be deducting those totals as busted!

Happy 4th!
I got to sleep in a little this morning and it was heaven! LOL After I got up I came out to the family room which is my office/sewing room and discovered what Eddie (the cat) had been playing with in the middle of the night! Thank heavens I had my slippers on! I almost stepped on a baby black snake! EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW...................fortunately it was dead. So I went and got Jim up and said get rid of it!! LOL And that is how we started our 4th off! Gotta love it. We have no real plans for today other than to take it easy. Will watch the fireworks that are shot off here in the neighborhood rather than braving the heat and the crowds. Jim is planning on putting the wood floor down in the back bedroom and I plan to do some sewing...need to get more socks finished and also a trip to Lowe's and Joann Fabrics is in order. Hope everyone has a safe and happy day!!

Men! LOL
Why is it our DH's or significant others have to snore and/or make so much noise while they sleep that we can't sleep? LOL If it isn't snoring...it's a wind tunnel...or twitching...or sounding like they are blowing bubbles! As you can tell I've been having issues with Jim and his noises at night! What I wouldn't give for a full nights sleep! Anyone know any good ways to make this stop? Short of kicking him out of the bedroom! LOL

It really does make it easier!
I am involved in the Lost Sock Swap and Ruthie posted a different way she found to do the socks that makes it easier and quicker. Sure wish we all had thought of this earlier...LOL I just finished 1 sock completely using her method. It was so much easier to get the heel and toe on the body and then to sew all the outside edges down at once was a piece of cake!! Thank you Ruthie for mentioning this. I am off to sew more socks!! Here's a pic of the one I just finished.
