Why I've been MIA...

I am currently in PA helping my Aunt and Uncle take care of my Mom, she has liver cancer and the chemo wasn't working so they have stopped and Hospice has been called in. My Aunt has set up her sewing machine upstairs so I can hopefully get back to sewing this week. It is in the living room and that is where Mom spends her time. So I'll be close by. Jim was able to get up over the 4th of July weekend and it was so good to see him. I have a few blocks in progress and hope to finish them up this week. Hopefully I can get back to some sort of regular posting.....

Good heavens it's been almost a month...

Since my last post. It's been crazy since we got back. It's been hard trying to get back in the groove of being home. Both of us have been busy with work issues and I really haven't done much sewing..I did finally get around to taking pictures of my purchases while in Paducah. So I will post those for now and as soon as I get organzied on my pictures from the trip I will post a few more.

Here are the books I purchased at the AQS Store they had downtown!

Lots of thread and notions and Tshirts!

Wildlife and pork chops!

We have been staying with my Aunt and Uncle in PA and having a great time with them. It has been so relaxing here....they have this patio area that they turned into the greatest room. It overlooks their backyard and one can spend hours just looking out the windows at all the different birds and squirrels and chipmunks and oh! They also have a little pond with a couple frogs in it. There are numerous feeders around the backyard and here is one of the squirrels under them scavaging for some food.
This feeder has food for the finches and they are just the most beautiful and bright yellow that I have ever seen.
Sunday we cooked pork chops and had a great dinner! Heather this picture is for you!!! Don't you wish you were here to eat these two that were leftover? ROFLOL

Our time here has gone fast and we have managed to pack quite a bit of family time into it. Saturday we start our drive back to Florida and will be taking our time.

We arrived in PA late

Saturday night. It was good to get in after the long drive. We left Shirley's around 7:30 AM CST and got in here at Jack and Phyllis' around 9:30 PM EST. Stopped off in Austintown at Quaker Steak and Lube and had a nice dinner and stretched our legs a little and then got back in the car and drove in. The trip here was uneventful thank heavens! LOL

Here are some pics of our travels over the weekend...

We're at Shirley's

We left Tallahassee on Monday morning a couple hours later than planned. Drove up through Alabama and TN and ended up stopping at Clarksville, TN for the night. It was getting dark and starting to rain and we said that is enough. The first hotel we stopped at we waited at the front desk for probably close to 10 mins and no one came to see what we wanted and we didnt' see anyone anywhere! So we left and went to the Days Inn next door and they were more than happy to take our money! Got all checked in and went and found some dinner and then crashed for the night. Got up on Tuesday and drove the remaing few hours to Shirley and Bill's. It was so good to see them! We met at Cracker Barrell and had lunch and then went on out to their house. Weds morning Shirley had a class in Paducah, so Jim and I went in closer to lunchtime and stopped at Hancocks. Me up with Shirley there and did some shopping...then went across the street for lunch. Jim came back to the house and we went to Eleanor Burns tent sale, the AQS book sale and the ....something Cherry place and did a little shopping. Came back here and Bill cooked some awesome pork chops on the grill. Tomorrow we are going to the show and meeting up with some internet friends for Strawberry Shortcake and lots of laughter.

This is the State Capitol building in Tallahassee, FL

This a picture of the apartment complex that Tim lives in.

We met up with this guy delivering trailors in Alabama and with him again in TN! He had 3 trailors in AL and 2 in TN. He was from FL!

Day 1 in Tallahassee!

Day 1 was Saturday and we spent the biggest part of it on the road driving to Tallahassee. We stopped and had a late lunch at Steak n Shake in Ocala and parked next to us was the cutest mini cooper with it's top down! Just had to take a pic and then I turned back around to our car and Jim was watching me across the top of our car so I snapped a pic of him! He is starting to hate the camera already! LOL Our hotel is close to Tim's apartment and is nice. We met up with Tim and friends and had dinner at Sakura...down below are some pics of some of the food ordered. Tim ordered a volcano and it came out on fire! That was interesting...Chaz's came out with a mint tree! And Jim's was all rolled up! That's it for the Saturday report.
